Inspired by a toy museum in Nuremberg, Akın spent over 15 years collecting around 7,000 antique toys, with 4,000 displayed in his family's restored four-story villa in Göztepe. The museum features rare toys from countries such as France, the United States, and Germany, with themed rooms designed like theatrical stages.
The museum has inspired the creation of several other toy museums across Türkiye, many established under Sunay Akın's guidance. Through its collection, the museum explores the history of science, culture, and imagination while encouraging visitors to reconnect with their childhood memories.
