
Zeytinburnu Medicinal Plants Garden is Turkey's first medicinal plant garden. Established on 14 acres of land, it was opened in 2005.
The project carried out by Zeytinburnu Municipality and Merkezefendi Traditional Medicine Association pursues the following objectives:
Researching, producing, promoting medicinal plants
Contribute to the conservation and development of plant diversity
To promote the effective and safe use of medicinal plants
To encourage the cultivation of medicinal plants
Providing study space and materials for educational programs
To lay the groundwork for studies on the use of medicinal flora
There are more than 700 medicinal plants in our garden. Most of the plants are labeled. It is possible to get extensive and audible information about the plant through the QR code on some labels .
In our garden, plant wastes are used as natural fertilizers. Synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are not used. Drip and sprinkler methods are used for irrigation.
