The Story of the Butterfly
Butterflies are nature's most beautiful and beloved creatures. On a sunny summer day, when we see a butterfly adorned with vibrant colors, a sense of joy fills us. Did you know that there are 200,000 different butterfly species in the world, ranging in size from 1.5 to 30 cm?
The most remarkable thing about butterflies is that they spend the majority of their lives as caterpillars. Crawling, living on plants, sometimes resembling a leaf or bird droppings, these creatures may not seem at all interesting until they turn into flying insects with colorful paper-thin wings. I wonder if butterflies are as beautiful and carefree as they seem?
The story of the butterfly is a story of survival. The journey of transformation from egg to butterfly is one of the most incredible miracles of nature. Despite all the difficulties and the enemies that reduce their numbers, the reward of the survival struggle that these magnificent creatures, who seem vulnerable, show from the moment they hatch, is a few short days with a colorful flight.
The oldest butterfly fossils found date back 50 million years. Although they have been able to maintain their lineage for such an extraordinarily long time, the apparent contraction in their habitat in recent years threatens the future of many species of these beautiful creatures.
We wanted to draw particular attention to this point when we were setting up our butterfly farm. The continuity of natural life is very important for butterfly species to continue their existence without decline.. The butterflies in the butterfly greenhouse are not taken from natural life. They are specially produced only to be kept on farms all over the world. They also constitute an important source of income for the residents of the villages where production takes place.
